Understanding Biblical Israel: A Reexamination of the Origins of Monotheism
Published in Hardcover by Mercer University Press (May, 2002)
Author: Stanley Rosenbaum
Average review score:

A scholarly assessment of Israel's religious evolution
Understanding Biblical Israel: A Reexamination Of The Origins Of Monotheism by Hebrew scholar and scripture expert Stanley Ned Rosenbaum is a scholarly assessment of Israel's religious evolution which emerged from polytheistic cultures of antiquity. Addressing the often contradictory pages of the Bible and attributing its conflicts to the diversity of people who wrote and recorded events in it, Understanding Biblical Israel is overall a finely thought-out presentation and a highly recommended contribution to Religious Studies reading lists and reference collections.

Unmarried Parents' Rights (Unmarried Parents Rights)
Published in Paperback by Sourcebooks Trade (June, 1999)
Author: Jacqueline D. Stanley
Average review score:

Excellent book!!!
This is a no nonsense read for anyone questioning their rights. I must say, after reading this book, not only did I understand my rights more, but used it to make my ex stop treating my daughter like a pawn in a chess game. This book is meant for every state in the US. It is perfect. It has the forms and even what to expect in court and after court. It is worth every cent!

A Utah Flora
Published in Hardcover by Jones Endowment Fund (June, 1993)
Author: Stanley L. Welsh
Average review score:

What else is there?
This is The Book for The Place. No one is more thorough than Stanley Welsh, and there are perhaps six people who know the diverse, Utah flora as well or nearly as well. Welsh is a "splitter," but I recall Askell 'Love saying, "If you are not sure, split and let others review your observation."

Three involving, surprise-filled tales
Van Gogh's Room At Arles is a collection of three original novellas by Stanley Elkin. A wheelchair-bound professor is overwhelmed by a student party that catapults to extravagant heights; a commoner suddenly becomes enmeshed in the world of royalty when Prince Larry of Wales falls for her; and a community college professor overshadowed by Van Gogh embarks on a quest for his own identity. The three involving, surprise-filled tales comprising Van Gogh's Room At Arles admirably showcases the work of a true literary master of tragedy and comedy.

Very Old Money
Published in Audio Cassette by Books on Tape ()
Author: Stanley Ellin
Average review score:

Worth every penny of the $20 I paid
I considered myself lucky to have found a copy of this book at a local used-book store.

Mr. Ellin's style is literate; his writing skill equals that of any author of "classics." The surprising ending could not have been anything other than what Mr. Ellin conceived. His storytelling was quite natural, the characters well developed,,and the plot very believable. In the hands of a less skillful writer, the story would have come across as contrived.

Buy this book. Kick back and have a good time with it!

A Veterinary Odyssey

Author: Stanley C. Tanner
Average review score:

A Veterinary Odyssey.
An absolutely fascinating read! The reader is at once propelled into a non-stop, exciting trek of a lifetime from England's green and pleasant land, to the seemingly endless fields of gold in the heart of the Canadian prairie. Then, as if swept up by magic carpet, you head into the dripping Amazonian jungle, only to wind up in the dusty Himalayan foothills! Not only do we get to travel along with this amiable, one-of-a-kind animal doc, we get to meet his four-legged patients and an interesting collage of collegues, too! This book is no run-of-the-mill autobiography. It's one to read by the fireside as the chill winds of winter roar outside your door, or while reclining on a sunny beach in holiday heaven. Upon turning the first page, you will be transported vicariously into a whole new world of imaginings. Five Stars to you, Dr Tanner!

Author: Charles F. Stanley
Average review score:

Excellent Compilation of Dr. Stanley's Books!
I truly believe that this compilation of three Dr. Stanley books in one volume is one of the best values I have ever found. This one volume contains, "Winning The War Within", "How To Handle Adversity" and (if that was not enough for this outstanding value), "The Gift of Forgiveness". Three of Dr. Stanley's best! Dr. Stanley would say "Don't dare give me the credit", (that God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit are rightfully to be praised for these works), okay! Amen! So, I won't say anything else other than...if you are really seeking genuine answers to why you fight those inner battles, why God allows advesity into our lives and a most practical spirit moving explaination of the loving, mericiful and gracious forgiveness available to every child of God...buy this book. I pray that God's Holy Spirit challenges you to greater, more meanful growth in your Christian life as He did me while reading these wonderful books.
